FOCLIS is a nondemoninational organization of people involved in the library and information profession who are committed to the Christian faith and seek to reflect its principles in their personal and professional life.
- To promote fellowship among Christians in library and information science related professions.
- To provide a forum for the discussion of ethical and practical issues related to librarianship in the light of Christian faith.
- To foster development and communication of thought regarding theoretical and applied relationships between Christianity and librarianship.
- To encourage witness and expressions of views and values regarding Christianity and information related issues to the community at large.
Meetings of the fellowship are held annually in conjunction with the scheduled conference of the American Library Association.
The newsletter is issued to the membership every fall and spring, and with occasional supplemental issues.
